If you want to be sure that your food is GM free, organic is the way to go.

That’s because organic standards prohibit any GMO ingredients. Not only that but evidence shows that organic farming really can feed the world with nutritious sustainable food.

So imagine how thrilled we are to have Planet Organic – the UK’s largest fully certified organic supermarket – throw it’s weight behind our campaign. The supermarket chain, with six stores in London, joins several of the UK most well known ethical businesses helping to spread the word about the campaign (see also our article here).

Planet organic has been campaigning against GM foods since it started in 1995. Unlike many other supermarkets, it sells only organic fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy, eggs and bread, and sustainable fish from British waters, proving that supermarkets can aspire to higher standards. Their ethical standards mark a real departure from the big supermarkets – all of whom have more or less abandoned their GM free policies for animal products.

You can read more about their support for our campaign at this blog.

Planet Organic will be rolling out GM Free Me signs in its stores from this month and we’re looking forward to working more with this great group of people as the year rolls on!
